The 8th generation (C8) of the Chevrolet Corvette is an engineering marvel, combining the brute force of an American V8 with the poise of a modern mid-engine supercar. However, the Corvette engineers left some room for aerodynamic enhancement to lower lap times and increase driver confidence. 

The V1X Rear Wing is a great addition to your Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8), increasing downforce significantly in the rear, enhancing confidence on track, and reducing lap times. Designed to work on the factory trunk, the rear wing bolts on easily and improves performance that this sports car can utilize on track. Similar to the Swan Neck UCW Rear Wing, the V1X Swan Neck Wing is developed to utilize the low-pressure zone underneath the wing element to pull the car downward, dramatically increasing downforce with a minimal penalty in drag. Due to the top-mount system, we observe an improvement in overall downforce, as more bottom surface area is available to take advantage of the clean, low-pressure zone.  However, with the longer chord and wider profile, the V1X has much higher capacity for downforce. The V1X wing at 2 degrees AOA (Angle of Attack) produces more downforce than the UCW does at 12 degrees AOA, and with less drag! Talk about next-level performance!

Utilizing state-of-the-art analysis software and wind tunnel testing during the R&D process, we optimized the airfoil for performance for the given build volume, which is derived from the V1X. Further utilizing CFD, we ensured the rear wing sees adequate airflow while installed on the car and performs well.

During the design process, we utilized in-house scan data. This results in a product that features a near OEM fit and finish. Even the uprights have been designed to mount in an area already disturbed by airflow, minimizing the drawbacks of installing functional aerodynamic parts. We engineered the wing to blend into the vehicle's profile while being capable of balancing out significant front aerodynamic systems like our Front Splitter Kit

    Science:

    The Verus Engineering V1X Rear Wing was specifically designed for the Corvette Stingray enthusiast who wants to push the performance envelope and generate more rear-end downforce. The wing has 15 degrees of adjustment to enable fine tuning to match your performance needs. This allows the wing to balance out a variety of front aerodynamic kits. As part of our Ventus 3 aerodynamic kit, the rear wing, and aero kit add a significant amount of downforce to the car to help reduce lap times and increase corner speed.

    Our CFD data and our real-world experimental data match up quite well. The wing hit all the major goals we set forth to achieve first in our CFD simulations and then with our real-world testing. The strong correlation between CFD data and real-world testing validates both our CFD analysis approach and the wing’s performance.

     

    Returns Policy

    To RETURN any system, product or merchandise you must contact us first for a Return Authorization (RA) Number. Special order and custom made systems, apparel, limited production parts, Carbon Fiber Parts, and other certain merchandise are NOT returnable. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. To return a Grid Racing Parts product an RA number must be requested and if granted the item(S) must be in original Grid Racing Parts sealed packaging. A copy of the original invoice and a brief explanation must accompany all returned items. You must follow our instructions for returning items carefully, or Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge a 30% restocking fee on any OPENED box or repackaged products. Customers are responsible for return shipping charges. If an order was shipped with a promotional “Free Shipping”, and the order is returned, we exclusively reserve the right to charge the customer or distributor for the cost of that original shipping and handling. If a Grid Racing Parts Performance package is ordered, and an individual component of that package is returned, Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge back the performance package discount along with any additionally offered discounts. Return shipped items DAMAGED in transit will RESULT in additional charges up to and including rejection of the competent. It is the customer’s responsibility to ship safely and properly. No returns accepted after 30 days from the invoice date. No credits will be given after 30 days from the invoice date.

    To qualify for return, the product must be unused and remain in the original packaging, as well as match the current design and packaging for the product at the time of return.     Periodically mistakes are made when ordering, or a wrong part is shipped, and you may wish to return an item. We will do everything reasonable to satisfy you. Please contact Grid Racing Parts immediately via email at service@GridRacingParts.com to discuss the circumstances before returning any products. Anything returned without prior authorization from Grid Racing Parts will be refused. All returns must be sent back fully prepaid. Our customer service department (service@gridracingparts.com) will issue a Return Authorization Number, which must accompany any return.     Grid Racing Parts Motorsport cannot be held liable for refusal of, delay of, loss of, theft or damage to a shipment of any item. The customer agrees to indemnify Grid Racing Parts for all costs, fees and expenses Grid Racing Parts incurs as a result of any violation of any local, state, federal, national or international laws or regulations. Customer agrees to take responsibility for lost packages that were not independently insured or sent without requiring signature. The customer understands they will be liable in the event of additional fees, tariffs, or legal issues such as border seizure. Customer accepts these risks and agrees to release Grid Racing Parts of all liability.

    Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge a shipping and handling fee on every order being shipped from our facility. This fee is universal and applies to all retail and wholesale purchases and cannot be waived or credited.

    A 8.25% sales tax will be implemented for every purchase shipped to Texas. This fee will be charged for in-house installations and products purchased online, over the phone, and/or via email, this fee is required by law, and is non-negotiable.
