Intake system is partly made in pre-preg carbon fiber, cured in autoclave. This is the only complete intake system for 6-cylinder 981 and 982 (718) Porsche Caymans that exists on the market.

With built-in snorkels, it facilitates the air ducting from the higher point on the side of the car, getting a lower temperature in the intake system, insuring more laminar air flow, minimizing turbulence, and maximizing performance. With extensive testing and development, this intake system is engineered to deliver optimal results for your Porsche Cayman.

The system is fully reversible and requires no cutting or modifying of any original parts (exception: trimming of the plastic cover under the rollhoop). In addition, it ensures a great induction noise from the engine right behind the drivers ears. It supports an OEM+ look, with stunning carbon fiber appearance in a variety of finishes, all providing great UV protection.

Lower existing side ducts will now serve as additional air-cooling of the engine, just like on the GT4 RS.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

The installation process of the RS Style Carbon Intake is straightforward and can be done by professional technicians or experienced car enthusiasts. It comes with detailed installation video to ensure a smooth and hassle-free installation. However, it is essential to follow the guidelines carefully to achieve the best results.

We can also order original windows and pre-mount the ducts upon request.

DYNO TEST

Based on the results of dynamometer tests, our intake system demonstrates a modest enhancement in power and torque attributed to the incorporation of high-flow air filters. However, it's worth noting that these findings do not incorporate the influence of cooler intake air conditions experienced during track usage.

Graphical representations of power and torque reflect direct measurements at the wheel hub of a 981 GT4. The peak power and torque readings at the crankshaft are as follows:

Do aftermarket plenums, runners and throttle bodies fit your system?
- We will test the fitment of various aftermarket runners, plenums and throttle bodies in combination with our system on a 981 and 718 shortly. According to the 3D model tho, our system clears a majority of aftermarket performance intake parts as long as you have stock air filter housings.

Does your system clear aftermarket roll-cages?
- The system avoids all stock roll-cages and most aftermarket ones, if they are not lower than stock.

Carbon fiber components, with their thinner walls in comparison to the original RS system constructed with 70% plastic parts, lead to more prominent induction noise even more so as in the flagship car.

It draws in colder, denser air from a higher position, unaffected by the warmer side air emanating from heated front brakes. Additionally, it features a larger filter area compared to the RS, resulting in a reduced intake drag coefficient, a characteristic evident in the upcoming dyno run data. For those seeking even more power, our system seamlessly integrates with a majority of aftermarket plenums and throttle bodies, unlocking further performance potential.Furthermore, our intake system repurposes former intake air for engine air-cooling during spirited driving or track sessions. This contributes to lower engine oil temperatures, an invaluable feature for performance enthusiasts. Returns Policy

To RETURN any system, product or merchandise you must contact us first for a Return Authorization (RA) Number. Special order and custom made systems, apparel, limited production parts, Carbon Fiber Parts, and other certain merchandise are NOT returnable. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. To return a Grid Racing Parts product an RA number must be requested and if granted the item(S) must be in original Grid Racing Parts sealed packaging. A copy of the original invoice and a brief explanation must accompany all returned items. You must follow our instructions for returning items carefully, or Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge a 30% restocking fee on any OPENED box or repackaged products. Customers are responsible for return shipping charges. If an order was shipped with a promotional “Free Shipping”, and the order is returned, we exclusively reserve the right to charge the customer or distributor for the cost of that original shipping and handling. If a Grid Racing Parts Performance package is ordered, and an individual component of that package is returned, Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge back the performance package discount along with any additionally offered discounts. Return shipped items DAMAGED in transit will RESULT in additional charges up to and including rejection of the competent. It is the customer’s responsibility to ship safely and properly. No returns accepted after 30 days from the invoice date. No credits will be given after 30 days from the invoice date.

To qualify for return, the product must be unused and remain in the original packaging, as well as match the current design and packaging for the product at the time of return. Periodically mistakes are made when ordering, or a wrong part is shipped, and you may wish to return an item. We will do everything reasonable to satisfy you. Please contact Grid Racing Parts immediately via email at service@GridRacingParts.com to discuss the circumstances before returning any products. Anything returned without prior authorization from Grid Racing Parts will be refused. All returns must be sent back fully prepaid. Our customer service department (service@gridracingparts.com) will issue a Return Authorization Number, which must accompany any return. A copy of the original invoice and a brief explanation must accompany all returned items. No returns accepted after 30 days from the invoice date. No credits given after 30 days.

Shipping

Grid Racing Parts Motorsport cannot be held liable for refusal of, delay of, loss of, theft or damage to a shipment of any item. The customer agrees to indemnify Grid Racing Parts for all costs, fees and expenses Grid Racing Parts incurs as a result of any violation of any local, state, federal, national or international laws or regulations. Customer agrees to take responsibility for lost packages that were not independently insured or sent without requiring signature. The customer understands they will be liable in the event of additional fees, tariffs, or legal issues such as border seizure. Customer accepts these risks and agrees to release Grid Racing Parts of all liability.

Grid Racing Parts reserves the right to charge a shipping and handling fee on every order being shipped from our facility. This fee is universal and applies to all retail and wholesale purchases and cannot be waived or credited.

A 6% sales tax will be implemented for every purchase made by a Pennsylvania resident. This fee will be charged for in-house installations and products purchased online, over the phone, and/or via email, this fee is required by law, is non-negotiable and non-refundable.
